Self-initiated concept / Brand & Product

Coursea

I created a self-initiated identity for Coursea, an educator platform, and applied it across product screens, posters and campaign mockups.

Context
Self-initiated concept
Year
2026
Role
Brand identity, UI direction, visual applications
Tools
Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
Challenge

The identity needed to work across an educator platform, campaign posters and physical applications at very different sizes.

The idea

I combined a circular C with a small spark, then used a wave motif and purple palette across the interface and campaign work.

Built

Logo construction, typography, product UI direction, a poster series, watch face, tote and outdoor mockups.

01 / The idea

An identity for an online course platform.

Audience
Educators creating and selling online courses.

Application
Product UI, posters and promotional mockups.

Status
Self-initiated concept — no client brief or shipped product.

02 / Approach

Build from the smallest element.

I started with the C-and-spark mark, then defined the wave motif, display typography and purple palette. I applied the same elements to the dashboard, posters and large-format mockups.

03 / Key decisions

Keep the mark legible at small sizes.

The mark
The spark remains separate from the C so the symbol is readable as an app icon and watch graphic.

The system
A shared motif and type scale connect the dashboard, posters and physical applications.

04 / Scale

Testing one identity across formats.

I used the watch face, product UI, poster series, tote and billboard mockups to check how the mark, motif and type behave from small to large formats.
